1. Class together, analyzed
Title changes for classed together, analyzed (or partially analyzed) series must be treated by successive entry cataloging. Follow standard procedures for closing out the old record and creating a new record. If the heading for the old title is not in AACR2 form, see SCP 62E: Change in Form of Series Heading.
2. Class sep
If the numbering schemes permit, treat a title change for a class sep series by latest entry cataloging, following LEC procedures (SCP 74: Latest Entry Cataloging) within the guidelines for class sep series (SCP 62A: Class Sep Series). Use successive entry cataloging if LEC cannot be used. Headings for all titles must be in AACR2 form.
Note: The statistical category code for 949 subfield $g is "csr" for any type of recataloging done to a class sep series record.
Update/revise series authority records as needed to reflect earlier or later titles and changes in established form (see SCP 63: Series Authority Records).
Check series tracings in online analytic records. If corrections are needed, submit a change request to Catalog Management. If a small number of corrections are needed, you may make them yourself:
1. Do not change any text in a 4XX field.
2. If the old series tracing is in 4XX, change the field tag to 490 with first indicator "1"; add 8XX with the correct tracing.
3. If the old series tracing is in 8XX, change the text in the field to the correct tracing.
d. Input a revision statement in field 949:
949 $a correct ser. a.e. $c [date] $e [initials] $f [location] $g ap
