Serials Department
The Serials Department

The Serials Department is comprised of two sections: Serials Acquisitions and Serials Cataloging. The Serials Department handles the acquisitions and cataloging of periodical, continuation, and annual/irregular library materials. Binding operations are managed by the Materials Processing section within the Preservation Department.

Serials Acquisitions maintains between 14,000 and 15,000 active subscriptions which account for about 54% of the Library's materials budget. All electronic resources orders are placed through the Serials Acquisitions section since licensing involved with these products is managed by the Head of the Serials Department.

Serials Cataloging
is responsible for the cataloging and holdings maintenance of the Library's serial collections. This Section catalogs in various formats, including electronic.
