Formalizing a collaboration that has already been in place for the last several years, the Library has become an official co-sponsor—along with the Searle Center for Teaching Excellence and the Academic Technologies unit of Northwestern University’s Information Technology (NUIT) division—of the Teaching, Learning and Technology (TLT) program. TLT offers five-day workshops that help faculty members integrate technology into their course design.
ALA Library Instruction Round Table (LIRT) puts Harriet Lightman/Ruth Reingold article in the Top 20
The American Library Association’s Library Instruction Round Table (LIRT) has selected an article co-written by Library Bibliographer Harriet Lightman and WCAS Assistant Dean for Computing Technology Ruth N. Reingold as one of its Top 20 Library Instruction Articles of 2005.
Recently admitted to graduate-level writing programs at both Northwestern and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Evening Circulation Supervisor Ish Harris-Wolff has decided on Northwestern. Her master's in creative writing (MCW) will be her third Northwestern credential; she earned a BSJ from Medill in 1991, and also holds an MA in history. She’s currently completing a two-year online writing program through UCLA Extension, and concentrates on writing science fiction and fantasy.
Each year during Student Appreciation Week (May 22-26 this year), the Staff Development Committee distributes goodie bags filled with juice, cookies, candy (some healthy – some not so healthy) to student workers in appreciation of their wonderful contributions to the Library. Also included in each bag is a letter from the University Librarian thanking the students for their work in the Library.
