Digital Media Services (DMS) is very pleased to welcome Tom O'Connell as the new multimedia services assistant.
Tom worked temporarily in DMS during Kristy Muday's maternity leave in Summer 2004 and joined the staff permanently in October 2004.
Please join me in welcoming Caitlin Blackwell as the new afternoon exit assistant in the Circulation Services Department.
Russ Clement, head of the Art Collection, has contributed two sections to the recently published Guide to the Literature of Art History 2 (ALA, 2005).
Matthew Teti, program assistant in the Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies, has published an essay entitled "The Work of Fashion in the Age of Globalization" in Bridge Magazine, a Chicago-based art and literature review (Oct./Nov. 2004, 7-9).
Six librarians and one staff member have been appointed fellows in Northwestern’s residential college program for the 2004-05 academic year.
Six employees from the Library and the University Archives were honored during a Service Excellence Recognition Program on Wednesday, January 19.
A search committee for the position of social science data services librarian has been formed. Its members are Jiuping Chen, Beth Clausen (Chair), Peter Devlin (ex officio), Qiana Johnson, Lucy Lyons, and Catherine Morse.

Jeff Garrett, Assistant University Librarian for Collection Management, provides a lively view of the 2004 Frankfurt Book Fair in an article for American Libraries.
