After 26 years at the Library, Desmond Francis, our mail room supervisor, will retire on December 29.

Donald Stanley is the proud father of a new baby boy!

Rachel Teuer joined the Core/Reserve Department this October in the position of electronic reserve assistant.

Her work will entail the intake and processing of electronic reserve requests to be placed in NUcat and Blackboard for University courses.

Lindsay King, the Art Collection’s new daytime reading room supervisor started her new position on November 1. Lindsay is responsible for management of the reading room as well as reference and research assistance.

Matthew Teti, program assistant in the Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies, has published an article entitled “Une nouvelle archiviste est nommé dans la ville: Joëlle Tuerlinckx at the Renaissance Society" in Afterall, issue 10 (2004), 21-26. The article should be appearing in the periodicals room within a week or two (ART L 705 A258).

Come dance, jam, laugh and “LIGHT UP THE NIGHT” at First Night Evanston 2005. Now in its twelfth year, First Night Evanston is Illinois’ largest New Year’s Eve festival of the arts.
