LITSS fully supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (IE 6) or higher as the browser for library staff PCs. LITSS installs IE on all of our staff images and will automatically keep IE up to date on all staff computers using Windows Software Update Services. LITSS will troubleshoot and correct any problems that arise with IE on a staff member's PC.
Library staff workstations will not include browser software such as Netscape or Mozilla Firefox. In many cases users can install them without administrative privileges. If a staff installs a non-supported browser it is required that they keep them updated with the latest patches. Moreover, staff members are responsible for supporting the browser should something go wrong. LITSS will not troubleshoot problems with non-supported browsers. If a non-supported browser is found to be causing problems with other supported applications or is not kept current, LITSS reserves the right to remove that browser from the PC and prevent further installations of it.
